My name is Toni Piluso, mama to Julia (born 7.7.07), a small herd of cats and a dog. And wife to my incredibly supportive and patient husband, Francesco. 

The opportunity to learn from and support you in your journey into motherhood is deeply appreciated.

I was moved to begin Doula training as I began my own journey toward pregnancy, fascinated with the body’s innate ability to perform such a miracle. I believe every woman has the right to continuous care & support during the intense process of labor and delivery. After all, this is one of the most important days of your life, and the experience of it will stay with you long after the actual event has ended. Why not take steps to make it positive? This means something different to each woman, and I will do my very best to support your vision.  I received my Birth Doula training in December 2006 and my certification through DONA International in July 2008.

As part of my Doula work, I am proud to offer massage and CranioSacral Therapy. I am a nationally certified Massage Therapist (since 2004) and am happy to share skills and tips with you and your partner. I have also completed training in CranioSacral Therapy for pediatrics as well as adults. Both of these therapies are easily blended and can prove incredibly soothing in the prenatal, labor and postnatal periods for both you and your baby. I also have completed Reiki I training, which also blends beautifully with any bodywork process. After my work with you as a Doula has ended, you are always welcome on my table!

Birth photography is also available if you choose. I have a BA in Journalism from MSU (2000) with a specialty in photojournalism. This dynamic style of photography lends itself well to the process of pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum time when things are constantly changing as your story unfolds. Most photographs are candid, with posed portraits of your choosing mixed in. Your privacy will always be respected and we can discuss what is appropriate for you. Since I am still new in this field, this service is currently provided as part of my doula care or as a standalone service for reduced fees.
